Physical Addresses in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
The CAN-SPAM Act requires that all commercial emails include a valid physical postal address that email recipients can contact for assistance. Since the Enterprise CRM sends a variety of message types, the physical address is a required component of all emails sent from Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Each of the email design library templates are configured to use the business unit physical address by default. This address is configured by Enterprise CRM administrators during the adoption process. Central campus addresses are used for consistency. Your unit will be asked to select your default campus during your adoption. The business unit physical address can be updated at any time by contacting crmhelp@iu.edu. Only central campus addresses will be approved.

Using a physical address that differs from the business unit default address
In some cases, a unit may need to communicate on behalf of a campus that differs from their default campus. Email design library templates are configured to allow address customization.
To use a different physical address than your business unit default:
- Create an email based on an email design library template or layout
- In the email editor, scroll to the footer of the email and delete the physical address content block. It will look like this:

- From the Content tab in the editor on the left, navigate into Folders > Shared > Email Design Library > Content Blocks > Campus Address Blocks.
- Select the campus address you want to use and drag it into the footer. It should go between the social media links and the compliance footer. If you are not using social media links, it goes between the red footer line and the compliance footer.
- Continue editing your email as desired.
