CRM project processes
These project processes successfully manage the scope and diversity of the continuous expansion to the enterprise CRM platform.
Any enhancement or change to the enterprise CRM that includes configurations, data expansions/integrations, or the integration of new products/apps will fall under one of the following processes and must be approved by appropriate CRM project approval and prioritization.
CRM major projects
Major projects are efforts where objectives require significant time and/or resources and are incorporated into a scoped and chartered project. Examples of these include establishment of new CRM pillars, incremental project phases, objectives that require funding or new products, or enhancements that require significant time/effort to deliver.

This process provides a path to rapidly address enhancements that can be completed with minimal effort and do not require incorporation into a CRM major project.

CRM innovation projects
A project that does not have a defined business objective but strives to have advanced functionality may be designated as an innovation project. The goal of CRM innovation projects is to investigate new capabilities to determine if they may have enterprise value to mature business utilization of the enterprise CRM platform.
CRM administrative projects
CRM administrative projects focus on platform infrastructure or global improvement from a platform administrator perspective. This includes any change or update needed to ensure the ongoing stability and sustainability of the enterprise CRM platform. They are approved and prioritized by CRM executive leadership and then incorporated into the strategic CRM development roadmap with all other projects.

Requests must be in the form of business objectives and outcomes instead of specific solutions. All enhancements must align with the extensible and sustainable architecture of the enterprise CRM platform and provide enterprise value to the university. Submitted requests are reviewed and assessed by the CRM team for effort estimates and categorization into one of the established CRM project processes.
