Creating a Data Extension
Using Existing Data Extension:
- Navigate to Email Studio within Marketing Cloud.
- Hover your mouse pointer over Subscribers.
- Click on Data Extensions from the drop-down menu.
- Create or navigate to the desired folder for your new data extension.
- Click on Create on the right side of the page.
- Select Standard Data Extension.
- Click OK.
- Under Creation Method, select Create from Existing.
- From the window that appears, on the left-hand side, click on Shared items, then click on the Shared Data Extensions folder, then click on the Convergence Cloud folder.
- In the right side of the window, select Convergence Cloud Template. This data extension has settings already configured for your standard upload.
- Click OK.
- Type a name for your data extension.
- Add an optional description.
- Leave External Key blank. Marketing Cloud will generate an external key.
- Make sure Is Sendable? is selected.
- Under the Data Retention Policy tab, leave Retention Setting as off.
- Click Next.
- Under the Fields tab, leave all fields and settings as they are.
- If you are creating a Custom Data Extension, you can add your custom fields during this step.
- Click Create.
